Chris Musial, Vice President and General Manager of WBBZ-TV is proud to announce that the Buffalo Broadcasters Hall of Fame Gala, inducting the Class of 2017, will air as a special presentation Sunday December 17th at 5p.m on WBBZ-TV, Your Hometown MeTV Station.
Jacquie Walker of WIVB-TV and John Beard of WGRZ-TV co-host the event that was staged September 28th at the WNED-TV studios. Steve Reszka, the President of the Buffalo Broadcasters Association, was joined by Hall of Fame co-chairs Stephen Monaco from Buffalo’s Best Flowers of WNY, and the Honorable Judge Penny Wolfgang, retired New York State Supreme Court Justice and co-host of the WBBZ-TV morning program “Daily Buzz 716” in organizing the presentation.
Inductees included Pete Weber, sportscaster currently with the Nashville Predators; WKBW Channel 7 feature reporter and Senior Meteorologist Mike Randall; Culver Broadcasting owner Dick Greene; Jim Pastrick from Townsquare Media; Carl Russo from 97 Rock; with the Memorial Award presented to the family of the late radio newsman Ray Marks. College student Noah Maciejewski received the Tim Russert Medal of Merit.
Commenting on the telecast, Musial ( a Buffalo Broadcaster and New York State Broadcasters Association Hall of Famer himself) stated, “It is an honor for Western New York’s locally owned station to recognize some of Western New York’s best. Buffalo broadcasters are recognized across the nation for their excellence.”
