CLARENCE, NY (wbbz.tv) Star Bills RB Fred Jackson told Bob Koshinski Monday night on WBBZ-TV’s “Fred Jackson Show” that after he sustained a knee injury early in the game Sunday against Miami, his leg felt numb at first. He candidly discussed how he felt, saying once he got some feeling back in it he wanted to “walk it off.”
Vice President and General Manager of WBBZ-TV, Your Hometown Station, welcomed Buffalo Bills star running back Fred Jackson to the Eastern Hills Mall studio Monday night at 7:30p.m. for “The Fred Jackson Show,” right after the LIVE 7pm “Bucky & Sully Show!”
The program will be re-broadcast Monday evening at 11:00p.m., and Tuesday morning at 9a.m. “The Fred Jackson Show” is sponsored by D’Youville College and Gates Circle Wine & Liquor.
Media are invited to record the program and use clips on-air or online with a credit to WBBZ-TV. Video will also be posted at www.wbbz.tv and the wbbz tv YouTube page.
Despite an injury to his left knee early in the first quarter Sunday against Miami, Fred returned to the game to score a touchdown. He also made a critical run in the 4th quarter to pick up a 1st down. When asked about going back into the game to make the run, he told the coaches on the sideline that, “…we needed it. Get me one on one with the linebacker and we would be able to do it.”
His performance was an inspiration to the team that ended up winning 23-21 over the Dolphins.
Bob asked Fred what he said to linebacker Mario Williams on the sidelines. In a comment that is exploding on Twitter, Fred said, “It’s about time for another sack don’t you think?”
Mario’s response to Fred was, “I got you.”
Jackson continued saying Williams, “…is a playmaker, and a great asset for this team.”
Joining Fred and co-host Bob Koshinski was receiver Robert Woods. He told Fred and Bob how exciting it was a rookie to be playing for the Bills, and with a player like Fred Jackson, who inspires others.
When asked what his rehabilitation schedule will be like for the rest of the week, Jackson noted he was not sure what the regiment would be; only saying he “would be smart about it.”
In addition to talking about the big win, Fred, Bob, and Robert were joined by a studio audience who competed in the “Hotshot Football Challenge” – several asking about Fred’s signature “Hulk” pose after scoring a touchdown. Fred said if he scores a touchdown, he will stick with his end zone pose… Fred wore a “Hulk” cartoon character shirt on the show.
Even Buffalo News sports columnist Jerry Sullivan, appearing earlier on “The Bucky & Sully Show” talked with co-host Bucky Gleason about Fred’s stellar record this season. Jerry wrote a column about Fred in Monday’s editions of The Buffalo News, and online at www.buffalonews.com.
Studio audiences are invited to “The Fred Jackson Show” LIVE every Monday at 7:30pm. Simply go to www.wbbz.tv and click “tickets” to make a reservation.
Fred will return Monday LIVE at 7:30p.m. after the Bills play the New Orleans Saints in Louisiana.
