The gala honored our first responders and local EMS to whom we owe so much gratitude.
“We work with them daily when we are out in the field and they are crucial to us not only to our mission in the air, but also on the ground,” said Kate Glaser, director of marketing and public affairs. “We wanted to give them thanks and show our appreciation for all they do.”
The gala featured an amazing dinner by Oliver’s, live and silent auctions, and an “orange” carpet experience. Guests arrived to the gala in style – greeted by a Mercy Flight helicopter and ambulance crew.
This outstanding event was produced by retired Walt Disney Company executive and Hamburg native, Bryan Wittman.
“Mercy Flight strives to provide the most advanced, compassionate and expert emergency medical care in a way that does not create financial adversity for patients,” said Wittman. “I am consistently amazed by the work of this nonprofit, and their commitment to patient care when minutes matter.”
The gala had a patriotic theme to honor 9/11. Daniel Rodriguez, America’s beloved tenor performed at the event, and talked about his experience as a first responder the day of the terrorist attack.
“Daniel has performed at Yankees games, Walt Disney World, and the White House, so we are truly honored to have him perform at our gala,” remarked Glaser.
