Bills star running back Fred Jackson is enjoying his best year ever in the NFL.
In the game last Sunday at Ralph Wilson Stadium, Fred Jackson scored a touchdown, and racked up 111 yards. As a result, our hometown team took a 19-0 victory over the Miami Dolphins. BuffaloBills.com reports Jackson and C.J. Spiller combined for 188 yards rushing.
BuffaloRumblings.com reports that on Sunday, Fred Jackson became the third running back in Buffalo Bills history to run for 5,000 yards in his career. He joins Hall of Fame runners Thurman Thomas and O.J. Simpson on that list.
Fred talked about that with Bob Koshinski on "The Fred Jackson Show" Monday night on WBBZ-TV. In his typical humble way, Fred said he was honored to be included with such top players who were once Buffalo Bills.
He had a big game despite playing with broken ribs.
Mark Gaughan from The Buffalo News reports the strongest unit on the Bills’ team is the defensive line. Buffalo entered the game with a league-high 49 sacks. The weakest unit on the Dolphins’ team is their offensive line. Miami entered the game with a league-high 51 sacks allowed.
The former dismantled the latter. That advantage trumped every other factor in the game, including the fact the Bills were starting backup quarterback Thad Lewis and Miami had all the motivation on its side, sitting in the driver’s seat for a wild-card playoff berth.
The loss dealt a blow to the playoff hopes of the Dolphins (8-7). The Bills improved to 6-8.
In addition to talking about the gridiron action, Fred took us inside the locker room to meet some of the players and find out what their favorite Christmas gift was. Fred even catches up with the elusive Kiko Alonso!
Now, Fred and his team are off to New England for the final game of the season against the Patriots at 4:25p.m.
He returns Monday December 30th for "The Fred Jackson Show," LIVE from the WBBZ-TV studio at the Eastern Hills Mall.
