Chris Musial, President and General Manager of WBBZ-TV, is proud to announce that “Beat The Champ,” will roll from the Jamestown Bowling Center, 850 Foote Avenue, Saturday July 16th at 4p.m. (with an encore Sunday at 11p.m.).
Featuring hometown bowlers!
This is the fourth of four programs to originate from the Jamestown Center. Hundreds of bowlers rolled in qualifier games to compete for a place on the show. In addition to the Niagara Awards trophy, winners receive 4 tickets to the Lucille Ball Comedy Festival coming to Jamestown August 4th through the 7th.
“Beat The Champ” is co-hosted by veteran sportscaster Paul Peck and Greater Buffalo USBC Association Hall of Fame bowler Sue Nawojski. Peck worked for decades at “News 4” before becoming a financial advisor and play-by-play broadcaster for the UB Bulls football team. Nawojski remains active in the area bowling scene, notably at Transit Lanes. Singer / model Janelle Sabin counts up the pins on the Castilone Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram Scoreboard.
“Beat The Champ” was recently recognized by the New York State Broadcasters Association with top honors for “Coverage of a Sporting Event.”
