WBBZ-TV Vice President and General Manager Chris Musial is announcing that the popular syndicated program \u201cKing of Queens\u201d will begin airing at 10:30p.m. & 11p.m. every weeknight, and Sunday at 10 & 10:30p.m. on WBBZ-TV, Your Hometown MeTV Station.
\n\u201cKing of Queens\u201d stars Kevin James, Leah Remini, and Jerry Stiller. The program was a network hit from 1998 until 2007, and has not been available on broadcast television in the Buffalo market for a while.<\/p>\n

\"King<\/a><\/p>\n

Musial stated, \u201cWe are very excited to continue to bring this contemporary classic to our station lineup, now for a full hour.<\/p>\n

\u201cKing of Queens\u201d fits well with the programming mix on WBBZ-TV, and has always been very popular in Buffalo.<\/p>\n

\"King<\/a>
\nThe show centers around the Queens, New York working class couple Doug and Carrie Heffernan, played by James and Remini. Carrie\u2019s eccentric widowed father Arthur Spooner, played by veteran comic actor Jerry Stiller, lives in the basement of the Heffernan home and is the spark for funny family conflict.
\n\u201cKing of Queens\u201d also features Ray Romano, popular for his series \u201cEverybody Loves Raymond,\u201d and Hulk action star Lou Ferrigno in recurring roles, with major guest stars in many episodes. The program was partly inspired by the classic sitcom seen on MeTV, \u201cThe Honeymooners,\u201d as the characters of Doug and Carrie are based on the Kramden couple, with similar mannerisms and deadpan expressions. The episode \u201cInner Tube\u201d contains a sequence in homage to the Gleason series, was shot in black-and-white.<\/p>\n
