Buffalo Bills running back <\/span>Fred Jackson<\/strong> will receive the Jefferson Award on Wednesday March 4th for Greatest Public Service by an Athlete. Jackson, the Buffalo Bills nominee for the Walter Payton Man of the Year, spends much of his time participating in community service, and is an advocate for the Food Bank of WNY. The NFL running back is also a spokesman for the United Way, the Billieve campaign for breast-cancer awareness and NFL Play 60 for youth exercise. Jackson will join the ranks of Buffalo Bills Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly who received this award in 2012, former NY Yankees pitcher Mariano Rivera and former Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver James Thrash who both received this award in 2014.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
