\n\tPhil Arno, owner of WBBZ-TV, is proud to announce that the Installation Mass of Bishop Richard J. Malone  will air commercial free on Channel 67 \/ Cable 5 Sunday night August 19th<\/sup>at 8p.m.  In making this announcement, Arno commented, “We are proud to be able to present this historic event in a primetime venue for viewers of all faiths.  WBBZ is Western New York’s hometown station, and we look forward to helping Bishop Malone establish a relationship with our community.”\n<\/p>\n

\n\tMore than 1,000 people filled downtown Buffalo’s St. Joseph Cathedral Friday August 10th<\/sup> as Bishop Richard J. Malone, a New England native, was installed as the 14th<\/sup> bishop of Buffalo.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tArchbishop Carlo Maria Viganò, the pope’s representative in the United States read the pope’s letter regarding Bishop Malone’s new assignment.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tBishop Edward U. Kmiec, now bishop emeritus of Buffalo, welcomed visiting cardinals, archbishops, bishops, religious, civic and ecumenical leaders and the lay faithful at the 2:30 p.m. installation.  In addition to Archbishop Viganò, Cardinal Timothy Dolan, archbishop of New York was in attendance and provided remarks after Communion.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tDuring his remarks, Bishop Malone spoke of the many warm welcoming folks he has met since the announcement of his appointment.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tIn an interview with WBBZ-TV to air before the Mass, Bishop Malone spoke of evangelization, an important focus of his ministry.  The Bishop also offered a special blessing to WBBZ viewers, and all of Western New York.\n<\/p>\n

\n\tBob Koshinski, Vice President and General Manager of WBBZ-TV noted, “We have extended an invitation to Bishop Malone to appear on our station.  It is our mission to create a dialogue in our community with representatives of all faiths.”\n<\/p>\n
