History was made Thursday night at WBBZ-TV, when the three candidates seeking the seat in the New York State to represent the 60th District, came together at our Eastern Hills Mall studio.

Incumbent Senator Mark Grisanti, running on the Independence Party line after losing to Kevin Stocker in the Republican party was in attendance, with Republican challenger Kevin Stocker, and Democrat Marc Panepinto.

A LIVE audience submitted questions that were used by moderator John Di Sciullo, in addition to those delivered by a distinguished panel of reporters that included Bob McCarthy from The Buffalo News; Jim Fink from Buffalo Business First; and Phil Arno, host of "Political Buzz" on Your Hometown Television Station.

Phil is also the owner of WBBZ-TV, and it has always been his passion to create LIVE, local, relevant television for the Western New York community. This "Town Hall Debate" fit that mission.

Questions ranged on everything from how the candidate would continue to grow the economy of WNY if elected, to partisan politics, negative campaign ads, funding The Buffalo Bills possible new stadium, and controversial subjects like the New York Safe Act for gun control, and same sex marriage.

Candidates answered, and threw some attacks at each other concerning their respective records. One notable exchange came when Marc Panepinto was questioned about past election violations, which was followed by Mark Grisanti attacking Kevin Stocker. Stocker and Panepinto defended their respective integrity and went after Grisanti for representing an alleged drug dealer. All three men are attorneys, and have all participated in political races on several levels over the years.

Social media consultant Brad Gelber was tweeting @WBBZ and was joined by members of the media who were here for this meeting. Susan Shulman from The Buffalo News; Sloan Martin from WBEN 930AM; Lou Chilelli from 7 Eyewitness News; joined reporters from WBFO 88.7FM and Time Warner Cable News. WBBZ-TV appreciates the coverage.

Mary Arno was Executive Producer.

If you missed the "Political Buzz: Town Hall Debate" - you can watch it again Sunday at 10:30a.m. on WBBZ-TV, Your Hometown Television Station Channel 67.1; Time Warner Cable 5 ( HD 1230 ); FiOS 5; Dish 5; DirecTV67. Remember to get out and VOTE November 4th!

It was an emotional moment when the entire studio audience stood up to cheer as they welcomed Bills RB Fred Jackson to the WBBZ-TV studio for his show Monday night. If you missed it, catch the replay of "The Fred Jackson Show" Monday at 11p.m. and Tuesday at 9a.m. on Your Hometown Television Station.

Fred talked to co-host Bob Koshinski about the groin injury he sustained in the Bills game against the Vikings Sunday. Doctors say he will likely be out for the next 4 weeks as he rehabilitates.

Fred talked about the injury, how it happened, and what he was thinking when he was taken out. He wondered if he would be out for the rest of the game, the season, or his career. He told Bob that on the way to get his MRI, he was listening to the game on the radio.

Part of the radio announce team, Mark Kelso, joined Fred on the show Monday night. Kelso played as a safety on the Bills from 1986 to 1993. Kelso said that despite a tough game and ultimate win, this team is 'finding itself." Kelso and Koshinski noted that the 17-16 victory over the Vikings, that came in the final minutes of the game, was a fitting "Fandemonium" end to the game that saw former Bills legendary broadcaster Van Miller inducted onto the "Wall of Fame." Miller's UN-BILL-IEVEABLE calls were classic during the Super Bowl years.

Fred also talked about the win, saying, "you would think the team was trying to write a Disney movie" to describe the classic finish.

Fred's teammate, Running Back CJ Spiller sustained a more serious injury to his collar bone. Fred told his audience that he talked with CJ today, and that he said "he'll be ready to play this weekend." However, in a good natured comment, Fred was quick to note CJ was "loopy" on his pain medication. Spiller's injury will take much longer to heal, after surgery.

The studio audience was made up of fans, the Cheektowaga Warriors football team, and Boy Scout Troop 440. Reservations for future shows can be made at http://www.wbbz.tv

Fans who sent their "tweets" to WBBZ TV | Buffalo's Buzz were read on-air by Brad Gelber, and members of the studio audience got to ask questions with Dave DJ Jickster from 97 Rock.

"The Fred Jackson Show" is sponsored by Buffalo Wine and Brew; The Buffalo Roadhouse Grill; On The Rox Liquor; D'Youville College; and Reimer Heating and Air Conditioning.

WBBZ-TV can be seen over-the-air on Channel 67.1; Time Warner Cable Ch 5 (HD 1230); FiOS 5; Dish 5; DirecTV67
